Scandinavian Modernism at SFO

So I’m driving down to the San Francisco airport very tired on a long Sunday to take my sister to her red eye flight back to México. We usually stay for a bit, while they leave. But this time I almost ran out of time to be with them. I got very distracted by this exhibit called “Scandinavian Modernism – In Pursuit of Function and Beauty“.

Do I need to say anything else? Well yes, I love all the furniture and all the ceramics there by iconic people from the period like: Finn Juhl, Arne Jacobsen, Hans Wegner, Poul Henningsen, Bruno Mathsson, Nils Landberg, Ingeborg Lundin, Wilhelm Kåge, Axel Salto among others. So many cool exhibitions lately in the Bay Area.

Photography was not permitted but I found other people that did took some shots. If you are interested and live in the bay area, there’s no excuse. Skip the photos and take BART or drive there. Free admission, you have until October 26th I believe.

Many thanks to guest curator Kate Eilertsen who did a great job at making that waiting at the airport so much more interesting this time.
