Here’s a booklet for the Broadway musical play titled “Kiss Me Kate” with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The designer is not credited but I love the type and those colorful diamond shapes that were very popular around that era. Enjoy!

I am a big fan of the work of Otis Shepard and his wife Dorothy Shepard. This one I believe is by his Dorothy and I absolutely love the bright colors, textures and style all over this illustration. There was a feature exhibition a few years back on the SFO airport on them which I was able to see. They were large images of their designs. MeanderingCraftily posted some photos. Here’s a book I picked up at a flea market in México. It is the Spanish version of the book titled “Gravity All Around” illustrated by Bernice Myers. Illustrations, textures and colors are wonderful. Enjoy!

Here are my new business cards. They were letterpressed by Dependable Letterpress in San Francisco. I worked with them before and they always do great jobs. The cards were printed on 179lb Cranes cover stock with 3 colors on the front (1 being just a hint) I was debating between a transparent foil stamp or a blind deboss for the background shape, but decided to go with a hint of color because I wasn’t finding the right foil. The edging wasn’t done by them. I actually needed them asap and that would have taken longer because it’d be outsourced so I just did a test for myself with a few of them.
Then I went on a press check and snapped some photos of the behind the scenes of the printing part. It’s always amazing to see that old machine go at it so precise. Hope you enjoy this post.

Here’s a song book titled ” The Burl Ives Song Book” Illustrated by R. J. Lee and Lamartine Le Goullon. But I decided to focus only on Le Goullon’s illustrations. I recently came around a few of his pieces and I was very impressed by his style. It’s very detailed and loose at the same time. This book is thick and filled with illustrations. I tried to show the best here. Enjoy!
