Europe is $52 Away!

Vintage KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Pamphlet. Designer Unknown. I like the colors, very 60’s. Reminds me of Alexander Girard’s color schemes. Love the use of Eurostile and the cut out faces. Looks 500 times better in person.

México 1968 Olympics

I try to usually find my own subjects to post but I’ve been out for a couple weeks and I wanted to share this flickr photostream with all of you. User mezcal&tequila has an amazing collection off images from the 1968 Olympics in México that were designed by Lance Wyman. The graphics were amazing but I’m particularly fond of the dresses, I just hadn’t seen those before.

Here’s a great example of design from the early 60’s for the King Solomon Restaurants. The identity wonderfully integrated into exterior signs, menus, packaging and more. I love how the square Extended Eurostyle typeface integrates with the shapes if the icon.

Enjoy!

Swedish Furniture Logos

brohag-logos

Here are some logos that I scanned from an old Bra Bohag catalog. These were the brands they distributed. The catalog is dated 1958-1959. Unfortunately there’s not much information I can give since it’s all in Swedish (Svenska) I believe. All I can say is that they are lovely logos that depict a great period, a great style and  fine quality furniture.

My favorite is the Tingströms logo. If anyone has info on the designers, feel free to share.
